Which one are you?

You can be either one. It’s your choice.

I’m generally an optimist, but there are occasions where I am a really good pessimist. I try not to be, as pessimism tends to add stress and sadness.

I’m a work in progress.

Optimism doesn’t mean that you go around with rainbows in your eyes all the time. It’s more of a belief that in general, things will work out okay.

Will bad things happen? Of course. And it’s okay to prepare for them. But it is disheartening for you (and those around you) if you always believe that everything will turn out badly. It just isn’t true. Sometimes things just work out.

And don’t claim to be a realist. In this context there is no such thing, because it implies that you know how things will work out. You don’t. NO one does.

Be an optimist. You’ll probably be wrong on occassion, but you’ll be right too! Might as well enjoy the positive feelings while you wait for the outcome.

You can do this.
