You are better than everyone you know at something. It may not be the same thing-but it is something. You’re a better planner than Bob and better guitar player than Janet. Steve is a better astronomer than you are and Linda knows more about flowers than you do. Warren Buffet is a better investor than I am. I believe I probably know more about karate than he does. It doesn’t matter who you are. There’s always someone better at something and someone worse at something than you.
So share with each other. Everyone can learn from everyone else. Find those things. It’s a great way to close the gap in our differences. As you share the things you know and don’t know….as you teach and learn from each other….petty differences disappear. You become two people sharing each other’s company.
Take some time today to learn something new, and maybe make a friend while you’re at it.
