I love the saying, “Sometimes I just sits and thinks….sometimes I just sits.”
I’m not very good at just sitting.
Sitting and thinking is a good thing, but it can be difficult. When we sit quietly and think….all those problems we have come rolling out and want our attention. It’s hard to ignore them.
I have found that if I acknowledge whatever is invading, and then set it aside for another day, that I can eventually get to the purpose of my ‘sitting and thinking’. Whether my purpose is to focus on solving a problem, reason with God, or clarify who I am.

In those moments of trying to focus and shuffling thoughts around, I sometimes find solutions to other problems. The hard part then, is to set it aside or to flesh it out. Either is valid. They’re your thoughts. Handle the ones most important to you.
Sitting and thinking can be scary, but when everything’s jumbled in your head, it’s okay to take a moment to think about them and sort them out, but don’t stay there. Eventually, you need to stop thinking and start doing.
Don’t be afraid to see what is in your own head.
You can do this.
