Have you ever made a mistake? Of course you have. I have too. Lots. And lots.

What’s the worst part of a mistake? Is it that we may have hurt someone else? Is it that someone may have seen it and think less of us? Did we now make it far more difficult to do what we wanted?

Each mistake has its own consequences. Some are pretty big…most aren’t. So, what do we do with them? Well, if we hurt someone, we apologize. A real apology. Not the kind like my brother and I gave each other when we were told to apologize to each other. This is the kind that means something. If we can fix it, we do.

What if someone saw us and now thinks less of us? There will always be those people that look for you to mess up so they can feel better about themselves. That’s sad. Be an example for them and keep trying, but don’t let their opinions get you down. I know, it’s easier to say than do.

As far as making things more difficult…difficult is not impossible. If something is harder now, but still worth doing, then keep doing it. You’ll probably make more mistakes. Just keep learning. You’ll get there. My dad said, “If you’re not making mistakes, then you aren’t doing enough”.

So get out there, and do what you need to do. Deal with your mistakes and keep moving forward. You’ve got it in you to succeed.
